According to the data released by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) It seems that religious people from all different faiths are generally happier than those who have "no religion"


The report analysed personal data collected over three years, between 2012 and 2015 for more than 300,000 adults in the UK. 

Hindus scored well above the national average.  Christians - of all denominations - were the second happiest, followed by Sikhs and Buddhists. Those who followed these religions were happier than the average person, who scored a happiness rating of 7.38 out of 10.


1 Hindus scored a rating of 7.57, 

2 Christians at 7.47,

3 Sikhs with 7.45 and 

4 Buddhist at 7.41.

5 Jews at 7.37 (Falling below national average).

6 Muslims at 7.33.

7 Any other religion at 7.26.  

8 No religion" were  the unhappiest, scoring just 7.22
